The Task: RewardOps SaaS Console
Like most SaaS programs, the complexity of a rewards-based SaaS program is influenced by a variety of factors, including the level of user engagement, customization, data management, integration, security, scalability, algorithm design, monitoring, compliance, user support, and the need for ongoing improvement. The successful development and operation of the RewardOps program required careful planning, a robust infrastructure, and a deep understanding of user psychology and behaviour.
The above video is just a snapshot of the categories section within the program. Considering there were thousands upon thousands of products on the system, it was important to create a customizable and automated system for our colleagues. Initially, the staff member would have to manually copy and paste from a spreadsheet with thousands of products a day. We created a system where the information would be added to the database through reports generated from the affiliate companies.
From these reports, our redesigned RewardOps system could recognize the item numbers and place them into the various correct categories - thus saving hours of work and human error issues.

The Task: RewardOps White Label Member Experience Mobile App
RewardOps White Label Mobile App
We began to collaborate with more clients, such as Air Canada, responsible for redesigning their updated rewards program Aeroplan. I realized that many of the components within the app could be reused and re-skinned to create a unique app for another client. This is when we decided to create a white-label rewards app and develop a design system to make rebranding for a new client easy. Creating a white-label mobile application involves developing an app that can be rebranded and customized for various clients or businesses, allowing them to use the app with their branding and features. There are several reasons why creating a white-label application can be hugely beneficial:
Cost-Effective Solution: Building a custom mobile app from scratch can be expensive and time-consuming. White-label solutions offer a more cost-effective way to provide mobile app functionality, especially for smaller businesses that might not have the resources for custom development.
Rapid Time to Market: White-label apps are pre-built or semi-customized, which significantly reduces the time it takes to get the app to market. This can be crucial in fast-moving industries where being first to market is a competitive advantage.
Client Branding: Clients can personalize the app with their branding, logo, colour scheme, and content, making it feel like their own product. This branding flexibility is particularly important for businesses that want a consistent brand image across all their platforms.
Faster Updates and Maintenance: When updates are released for the white-label app, they can often be easily applied across all client instances. This ensures that clients benefit from improvements without the need for extensive development work.
Consistency: White-label apps can ensure a consistent user experience across multiple clients. This can be important in situations where users expect a similar look and feel when interacting with different businesses within the same industry.
